Adjectives – Word Search

Adjectives are words that describe or modify nouns (people, places, things, or ideas) by providing more information about them. They give details about the size, color, shape, age, condition, and other qualities of the noun they are describing.

For example, in the sentence “She wore a beautiful dress,” the word beautiful is an adjective that describes the noun dress, telling us what kind of dress it is.

Adjectives can answer questions like:

• What kind? (e.g., a red apple)
• Which one? (e.g., the tall building)
• How many? (e.g., five students)

Adjectives typically appear before the noun they modify (e.g., a small cat), but they can also come after a linking verb (e.g., The cat is small).
